Hello!
I'm so excited to have the opportunity to work with a good friend Christi, who runs Dirt Learning preschool in West Haven on one of the sessions to talk about nature and messy play and all the amazing benefits!

Here are some of the easy cleanup sensory ideas I'll be sharing in my part of the talk of how to get into messy play and navigating our own need for control and cleanliness, and how to let it go for the kids!
Prep your area first! Tablecloths or cardboard laid out on the floor and on the walls!
Free gluing: get lots of random stuff like carboard, wood bits, paper cutouts, etc.
I let them take the lids of the school glue because they sometimes get frustrated if they can't get glue out.
Slimes:
Boarx slime is super easy, fun, and easy to clean and manage.
SUPPLIES
Borax Powder
White PVA Washable School Glue
Coloring and Fun Mix-ins (optional)
STEPS
Mix 1/2 cup of glue and 1/2 cup of water in a bowl.
Add food coloring and mix-ins if desired.
In a separate container combine 1/4 tsp of borax powder and 1/2 cup of warm water land stir well
Add borax solution to glue mixture and stir vigorously until mixture forms a slimy ball.
Knead slime with hands for desired consistency.
I'll share more in the next post!
Melanie.
